The place where this building was constructed makes part of a new area of the city know as Alta de Lisboa, whose funds are managed by SGAL. It was originally planned to be constructed on a different plot and finally decision makers decided upon this location as the most adequate. Nevertheless it was a very interesting process where the inter exchange of information between the police experts and the architecture studio was absolutely fundamental in order to achieve the final result. This building holds many different police departments and it was the first unit of the kind built in the capital.
