House in Vilarinha

House in Vilarinha

Vilarinha – Aljezur

Along the very small village of Vilarinha there are only few plots left where one is allowed to build or rebuild. In the past years an English lady bought most of the houses there and did a beautiful renovation work. Some years ago the local municipality, unfortunately, allowed some a new house nearby that caused an artificial impact in the “spirit of the village” due to its implantation. Our proposal tries to stick to the tradition by proposing a simple “assemblage” of volumes. With very small areas this house with only 2 rooms is implanted on the preexistent cellar. It has 2 main levels and it is all conceived in an opened space area. The garden and a small terrace benefit from an outstanding western view along the valley.
